‘Really lovely…great nuances in the vocal…great arrangements too of course’
Clare Teal – Jazz singer and broadcaster

She sounds so authentic and stylish but fresh at the same time’
    John Wilson – conductor

'Isobel has an innate musicality for sure but more impressive is her natural vocal swagger, a rare commodity, putting you ‘the listener’ immediately at ease.’

about

"Day Dream" was composed by Billy Strayhorn with lyrics by John Latouche and written in 1939. It was first recorded by saxophonist Johnny Hodges and his ensemble on November 2, 1940. Duke Ellington was credited as co-composer on the label of the original 78 RPM release, though he is not generally considered to be one of the song's creators.

lyrics

Day Dream why do you haunt me so
Deep in a rosy glow the face of my love you show
Day Dream I walk along on air building a castle there
For me and my love to share.
Don't know the time Lordy, I'm in a daze
Sun in the sky, while I moon around feeling hazy
Day Dream don't break my reverie until I find that
He is day dreaming just like me.

Don't know the time Lordy, I'm in a daze
Sun in the sky, while I moon around feeling hazy
Day Dream don't break my reverie until I find that
He is day dreaming just like me.
